Tahaluf Al Emarat is going to develop a digital payment gateway which will be the first of its kind in Mauritania. This new gateway allows 80% of who are not included in the banking services to complete the payment processes of government services fees. This comes as part of the Central Bank of Mauritania strategy to achieve digital transformation and build the basics of the Electronic Government in Mauritania.
A memorandum of understanding has been signed between Tahaluf Al Emarat and the Central Bank of Mauritania in Tahaluf offices in Abu Dhabi, by the CEO of Tahaluf Tariq Shahabedden and the Chief of Staff to the Governor of the Central Bank of Mauritania Dr. Sidi Mohammed Al Dhaker.
Tahaluf CEO has affirmed that this project aims to provide smart and secured government services on a high level for the individuals in Mauritania, improve the government services in Mauritania, and upgrade their performance.
This cooperation between Tahaluf and the Central Bank of Mauritania will give the Central Bank the opportunity to benefit from the expertise of Tahaluf in executing the project and train the Bank’s employees on how to use the Electronic Payment Gateway and the smart services.
Dr. Sidi Mohammed Al Dhaker, the Mauritanian Chief Delegate has emphasized that the agreement with Tahaluf comes within the context of the Central Bank plan to strengthening the financial inclusion. Moreover, he asserted on the importance of the Electronic Payment in facilitating the daily needs of the Mauritanians, and developing all economic fields, since the Electronic Payment is known for its security and efficiency, easy to use, and low cost of each application.
